Aglow began in 1967 with four women who wanted to meet together as Christians without denominational boundaries.
From that day, the rate of growth has been phenomenal.
Aglow now meet in 171 nations.  There are approximately 124 chapters of Aglow across the UK, covering the length and breadth of the country.

Newcastle Aglow was under the leadership of Maureen White for 3 years from 2005 til September 2008.  Maureen recently took a position on the Aglow North East Area Board so Ruth Muita stepped into the role of President.

At Newcastle we have seen growth numerically and spiritually in recent years, and it is our passion to see more women saved, healed, and set free to become the women that God has created them to be.  Every woman is different and has a different purpose in life - our goal is to encourage and strengthen those women, and to see them fulfilling the will of God for their lives.

Our vision however does not stop there!  From each individual in Newcastle Aglow, to their families, to the city, to the region of the North East, and to the whole nation, we believe that the Spirit of God is moving and that He is equipping us to be an army that will see change for His glory!
